CAPACITY STRENGTHENING
We strengthen the capacities of key sectoral institutions for managing pro-employment growth in the Rwandan light manufacturing sector. This includes capacity development through trainings and advisory services to equip partner institutions with the necessary technical and financial capacity to promote the development of the light manufacturing sector.
LABOUR MARKET INTERVENTIONS
We enhance the capacities of Public Employment Service Centres, which play a pivotal role in connecting job seekers with potential employers and providing career guidance. This includes the development of the Centres’ legal framework, the development of the National Career Advisory Strategy, and organizing Job Fairs. Moreover, together with our partners, we contribute to upgrading the current labour market information and support the NISR Training Centre to become a regional hub for statistical and data science training.
TOURISM
Tourism is a catalyst for generating demand in various sectors, including light manufacturing. We support the marketing of tourism products beyond national parks, focusing on the Kivu Belt region and Nyanza district, and strengthen the capacity of key tourism institutions, such as the Chamber of Tourism.
With our partners, we implement a Destination Management approach at the district level, fostering local ownership and the long-term sustainability of tourism initiatives. With this approach, efforts have been directed towards supporting the destination marketing and coordination for Musanze, Nyanza, Rubavu and Rusizi districts. An essential aspect of these endeavours involves the establishment of Destination Management Organizations (DMOs), which serve as key players in coordinating and promoting the tourism activities of these areas.
