PRIVATE SECTOR DEVELOPMENT
We enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs in light manufacturing by supporting the improvement of their production processes and the quality of their final products. We promote local companies to raise their productivity and become competitive on the national and international markets.
For this, we support the Integrated Craft and Production Centers (ICPCs) in improving their production processes, governance, and organization structures. This includes the introduction of quality management systems and measures to improve safety at work. The Centers are located in each Rwandan district and offer production sites for companies and cooperatives in carpentry, construction, and other crafts. Additionally, they provide trainings and apprenticeships for young artisans.
Another important partner is the Incubator Accelerator Facility (IAF) managed by the National Industrial Research and Development Agency (NIRDA). We support the Facility on entrepreneurship development and further assist them in providing technical support for wood sector operators.
